Abstract

Conquer Languages Conquer the World

Language learning enriches your life in so many ways. It is important in helping one to communicate and integrate with the local community. The lack of language communication skills especially in English Language among Terengganu society brings attention to Terengganu Public Library (PPAT) to expand its service by introducing Terengganu Language Centre (TLC). It helps children and adults to learn language and also open up the world language to young learners. This is to promote that our library also lead in language learning and offers much more people interest other than books. Since it is subsidized by the state government, all ranges of people regardless of their social status can benefitted from the language programmes organized by TLC. It feeds the education needs not only for the rich, but also for the poor and persons with disabilities. TLC offers variety of language programmes such as English, Arabic, Mandarin, Korean, French and Japanese. It receives 500-1000 participants per year and they can masters a language in just two (2) months. The existence of TLC in PPAT increases the number of users indirectly and as well invites the society to come to the library. It is significant to learn language cause “by learning language you are moving to conquer the world”.
