Abstract

Publicationsinfrastructure for Open Science: Services for Green and Gold Open Access

The German National Library of Medicine (ZB MED) – Information Centre for Life Sciences is a key component of German and European information infrastructure in the field of life sciences. ZB MED is committed to the concept of Open Access (OA) and provides comprehensive support in this area. For example, with PUBLISSO (https://books.publisso.de) it offers a range of open access publishing platforms for scientists and researchers working in the field of life sciences, enabling them to publish their research findings and data in different types of publications. Combining all functionalities of a publication process, it´s possible to make relations between publications and research data via cross referencing visible. So, any publication format can be used on PUBLISSO: from the classic book to any media format of the future. The publications will be distributed in different search portals to ensure findability and statistics and alternative metrics provide information about usage. The poster will show by graphs and pictures and some keywords in English, how a library can offer a state of the art platform and conform editors and authors. The platform is based on an open source system and can be reused by other libraries.
