Abstract

Making knowledge / Connecting people

In my presentation of today I follow the main line and structure of my book. - I will tell something about my vision how to deal with the main stakeholders for public libraries: the local / regional governments. - Then I present the philosophical fundaments I have used before working out a strategic programme for the library. - In the next part I will tell something about liberty and freedom and the connection of these themes with the library - I tell you something about my view how the library and the librarian can translate the fundaments into a programme. - I will end with some thoughts about some conditions how to organize the library also in relation with its surrounding.
