Abstract

CJK Digital Library, a Digital Archive Surveying Heritage of Knowledge and Culture in Asia

National Library of China, National Diet Library Japan, and National Library of Korea are set to launch an integrated digital archive tentatively named as CJK Digital Library () in September 2017, where users can browse and search online for the heritage of knowledge and culture in Asia. The three countries signed China-Japan-Korea Digital Library Initiative Agreement, CJKDLI) during the WLIC participation in 2010. Through CJKDLI, three libraries aim to CJK Digital Library building promote Asia heritage of knowledge and culture to the world and for this recognizing the need for continually cooperation data interoperability, digital archiving and standardization among them. What CJK Digital Library shows the outcome of concerted efforts of the project groups for a common goal. To be launch this time CJK Digital Library is expected to service by digitized resource 3,000 metadata (bibliographic data) units of materials owned by the three libraries, and classical materials 126 items to the collection. This is meaningful that it was the first step to achieving a tangible outcome of the mutually shared goal of the CJKDLI project. By presenting the poster about CJK Digital Library, we would like to share milestones of the CJKDLI project and announce the upcoming official launch of CJKDL to librarians across the world.
