Abstract
Urgent climate information for climate actions in Nigeria
Reversing the disastrous trend of climate change globally is the 13th of the United Nation’s SDGs. Nigeria has signed and ratified the Paris Agreement of the United Nations Framework Convention on climate change, yet not much has been achieved in mitigating the impact of greenhouse gas emission in the country. Public awareness of the issues involved is abysmally low despite the fact that Nigerian masses are heavily involved in agriculture, transport and energy issues which are central to carbon neutral society. Librarians as stakeholders have therefore embarked on climate information dissemination programs from 2018. This is aimed at raising the masses awareness of climate change facts to inspire climate-friendly behavior and actions. Librarians are reaching out to target audience beyond the library walls. The groups librarians interact with, the messages they give, the media used and expected outcome will be graphically presented in the poster using texts as needed.Item Type: | Conference or Workshop Item (Poster) | |||||||||
