Abstract

Raising the quality of education through digital transformation in libraries

New Media, based on digital technologies, are coming in to all corners of society, quickly and unquestionably. There are a lot of advantages: They are Interactive and illustrative, include all senses, people learn faster and remember longer. There are so many ways to improve library services and to introduce some new. Also to help our users with their digital needs, as well. We need a complete digital transformation in all aspects of work. A modern user needs fast, click-available dynamic information with AV content included. New educational forms and techniques, and this asks for the advanced digital skills of librarians. Quality education implies interactivity, inclusiveness, accessibility, as well as being multimedial and free. All of these things are possible with digital transformation. There are many ways how librarian can make a book trailer, video tutorial, how we can use Augmented reality apps to make our services more interesting, to make our books live, how we can use various free apps to make small animations that can be used for various activities. Online courses, interactive educational applications, multimedia content, reference organisation, dynamic presentations, mixed reality applications, QR technologies. Everything is available. The most important is improving of digital competences of librarians.
