Abstract

National Museum of Qatar Library Rare Books – International collection of gastronomy books & manuscripts

Part 1 - International Collection of Gastronomy Books & Manuscripts The National Museum of Qatar Library (NMoQ) will open its doors in 2019. This museum and library will give voice to Qatar’s heritage whilst celebrating its future. NMoQ will have a section relating to celebrations and a gourmet restaurant with a cooking school. The International Collection of Gastronomy Books & Manuscripts will be part of the NMoQ Library Rare Book Room. The age of the collection ranges from 1454 to 1899 Work flow involved in preparing the books to be housed in the new library. This includes condition checking; inventory; preservation; cataloging and final placement in the rare book room.
