Abstract

A Splendid 25 Years of Fine Books For Everyone Award in Taiwan

Taipei Public Library (TPL) began holding the “Fine Books For Everyone Award” in 1991 and the award has become the good quality children’s book award that is the most authoritative and most highly regarded by publishers in Taiwan. The award winners are included in the “Guide to Fine Books” that is published annually. In the 25th anniversary year, 2016, the marketing team have gone into Taipei Zoo and the National Taiwan Science Education Center, places popular with families, and have merged good children’s books in the three categories of “literary books”, “informative books”, and “picture books” into simple but fun games so that kids can come into contact with good books as they play and will then recommended the books to their parents. Fine Books for Everyone Award brings good books into people’s lives by actively encouraging local authors to create and through holding book exhibitions, lectures and campus tours.
