Cultural animation with „stars”

The Belgrade City Library organize a wide range of programs and projects in order to promote the culture of reading within the local community, enlarge public visibility of the library, increase the number of library users and activate the already existing ones. In the process of acquiring marketing methods that would pave the way for these initiatives and bring the elements of culture to the wider public, relations with „celebrities”, public figures from the area of culture, sport, science, and other areas proved to be a great solution. Belgrade City Library invites celebrities to promote libraries, books and reading and they do it free of charge. On printed poster „Cultural animation with stars” we present five projects of the Belgrade City Library which include cooperation with celebrities. These project are “We are all in Library”, “I really read, I do not play”, “Lets Cultivate Our Language”, “Fortress of Culture” and “Library on the Beach”. A common characteristic for these five projects is participation of celebrities like actors, musicians, sportsmen, writers, TV anchors. Beside promotion of books, reading, and other library activities, they are encouraging local communities to be interested for culture as a whole. The most popular project is „We are all in the library” which takes place every year on the occasion of the world Book Day and Copyright Day, when celebrities work as librarians. Cultural animation with „stars” is approach with following merit: library, reading and cultural activities are promoted in an original and non-expensive way. Furthermore, it can be applied in many libraries.
