Abstract

Teach. Motivate. Inspire.

The main goal of this poster to present Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools in Kazakhstan, a testing site for piloting innovations in Kazakhstan’s secondary education system. Fostering the development of multicultural, strong-minded students is a key idea of Intellectual schools where the library certainly plays an important role in the students’ formation and development. Now «Lifelong learning» motto has its relevance for teacher-librarians and workshops with the participation of International experts from The USA, South Korea, Singapore, etc. are organized systematically. Photos from these workshops illustrate the training process clearly. Poster informs with one of the main directions of library’s activity – sharing experience gained on workshops to all mainstream schools in the country. The mind map shows positive dynamic of holding workshops for 4 years including the topics helped to expand library values and opportunities, to improve library staff qualification, to get invaluable experience and creative collaboration. Schools, successfully implemented advanced methods on reading and literacy development, research and critical thinking skills are shown on photos. «Bookcrossing – Book travel from NIS» is one of the actions of Intellectual school libraries held since 2010. This action is the future vision for developing «Reading nation». The detailed information is presented in given graphs and charts with pictures.
