Abstract
Fulbright Scholar Program for Library Science Professionals: Showcase of Two Recent Projects conducted by Academic Librarians
The purpose of this poster is to promote the core Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program among the library science community by showcasing two of the recent U.S. Scholar Fulbright research projects. The Fulbright Scholarship Program sponsors U.S. citizens for exchanges in all areas of endeavor, including the library science. There have been more than 250,000 Fulbright students, scholars and teachers; including library science professionals served as a Fulbright grantee since 1948. The core Fulbright Scholar Program attracts some 800 U.S. faculty and professionals each year to 140 countries to lecture, teach and conduct research. According to data gathered from CIES database, there have been only 22 projects conducted in the library science involving 18 countries, 20 home institutions and 21 host institutions during 2010-2016. The award annual distribution was 2010-2011 (9), 2011-2012 (4), 2012-2013 (2), 2013-2014 (4), 2014-2015 (2), 2015- 2016 (1). The data gathered from CIES may also assist to prospective Fulbright applicants to pinpoint welcoming host countries and institutions for their application process. It is hoped that this poster will reach to a wider library science community during the IFLA conference to build a communication between these two past awardees and the prospective future Fulbright scholars.Item Type: | Conference or Workshop Item (Poster) | |||||||||
