Abstract

Information-seeking behaviour of LGBTQ health professionals: New data to inform inclusive practice

While the literature contains various studies into the information needs and information-seeking behaviour of LGBTQ-identified library patrons, there is only one which examines the specific information needs of LGBTQ health professionals and their use of librarians. This current research project aims to fill this gap in the literature. The authors report the results and subsequent analysis of an international web-based survey of LGBTQ health professionals, with additional data gathered from semi-structured follow-up interviews.

Les habitudes de recherche d’informations des professionnels de santé LGBTQ: nouvelles données pour renseigner les pratiques inclusives

La littérature scientifique propose de nombreuses études sur les besoins en informations et les stratégies de recherche d’informations des usagers LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer) des bibliothèques. Il n’y en a pourtant qu’une qui examine les besoins spécifiques en informations des professionnels de santé LGBTQ et leur utilisation des bibliothécaires. Ce projet de recherche vise à combler ce vide. Les auteurs rapportent les résultats d’une enquête internationale en ligne auprès des professionnels de santé LGBTQ et leurs analyses subséquentes, ainsi que des données supplémentaires provenant d’entretiens de suivi semi-directifs.
