Abstract

The Russian State Library International Cooperation and Communication Program for Library Professionals

The purpose of this poster presentation is to promote the Russian State Library International Cooperation and Communication Program for Library Professionals among the library professional community by highlighting the recent cooperation projects in Bibliotekovedenie (Library and Information Science) journal of the Russian State Library. The Russian State Library is a national library of Russia, the largest in Eurasia, with more than 90 years’ experience in the fundamental researching in library and information science. In 1952, the Library established the scientific-research journal now known as Bibliotekovedenie (Library and Information Science). Today the journal has transformed its publication policies to open international cooperation opportunities by creating friendly infrastructure for exchanging information and knowledge in library and information science field. It is not only an invitation for authors, but also new opportunities to find partners for joint articles and provide an experience in peer-reviewing. Bibliotekovedenie journal publishes articles in Russian (in translation if submitted in foreign languages), extended Abstracts and References are provided in English, but it is possible to submit articles in English as well. In this case, they will be reviewed by an English speaking reviewer, and, if the article is accepted, it will be translated by staff of the IFLA Russian Language Centre into Russian. We hope to build a professional communication between the journal’s editorial board, Russian research scholars and prospective future authors and peer reviewers.
