Abstract

Transforming Qatar National Library Young Learners into Lifelong Learners

Since QNL has opened its door to the public in November 2017, The Children and Young Adults has organized numerous programs that address academic, social and personal needs of young learners in collaboration with the team, educators, professionals and institutions. The poster will be divided into sections that highlight the commitment of Children and Young Adults to further nurture the learning development of its target audience and continuously support them to becoming lifelong learners. The first part discusses the strategical planning and approach that Young Adult Librarians do to conceptualize programs suited to its audience. The second part enumerates all categories of QNL programs such as educational lectures and training, reading and literacy development, arts and creativity, health being and STEM. The third part explains collaborative efforts and partnerships with other agencies and institutions in facilitating and leading programs at QNL, this includes photos of all programs and logo of each institution. Next section will provide an overview how these programs reach the community through marketing and promotional strategies. The last part shows the statistics and graphs of each program conducted in the twelve consecutive months of operation, and other data that reports the number of local and foreign attendees.
