Abstract

Qatar National Library: A Library Driven by Social Justice Values

Part 1 - Diversity of QNL community - In Qatar, we have more than 87 nationalities. - Qatar National Library (QNL) is open to all the visitors and residents from all the nationalities. - QNL members: 94, 712 members. - QNL Staff: 183 staff, from 37 nationalities who speak 12 languages. - QNL value : Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, Respect and Fairness where our patrons are valued regardless of race, colour, sex, gender identity, religion, disability, age, genetic information, socioeconomic status, or national or ethnic origin and where their opinions, needs and viewpoints are considered into every decision we make. - QNL International Relations and Partnerships towards peace and social justice, presented in flags and logos.) Part 3 - Highlights from our collection Collection: - Peace: 6461 Books, 1932 E-Books, offered in 19 languages. - Social Justice: 2437 Books, 1690 E-Books offered in 7 languages. - Diversity: 3485 Books, 5094 E-Books, offered in 10 languages.
