Abstract

Storytelling without borders – Explore the World through picture books

Douliu City Library of Picture Book launched a project to expand children’s view of the world through reading picture books and to call for citizens bringing a picture book home from their travel journeys have been held four years. Of the end of 2017, we have received more than 1,100 picture books from 45 countries and regions. We are delighted to see such enthusiastic response from our communities and universities. Using these treasure picture books we start a storytelling without borders project. Through the project not just to inspire parents and their children, but because they are also equally committed to accelerating global literacy and new models of education for the future. “Children love to learn. Our intention behind this project is to foster an innate sense of curiosity and fascination in children and thus stimulate them to become a lot more interested in their world,”
