Abstract

National Campaign for Persons with Reading Difficulties and Dyslexia “I Wish to Read Too!”

Croatian Library Association is managing a year long National Campaign for Persons with Reading Difficulties and Dyslexia “I Wish to Read Too!” (October 2016 - October 2017). National and University Library in Zagreb and Zagreb City Libraries are co-organizers of the Campaign. The Campaign has partners amongst which we have to mention Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, Croatian Logopedic Association, Disability Ombudsman Office, Children Ombudsman Office, all types of libraries, publishers and many others. The Campaign aims to inform and educate people as well as sensitize broad public about the problems and needs of people with reading difficulties and dyslexia who are print disabled, to expand the network of libraries with programmes and library materials in formats specially adapted for persons with reading difficulties, to improve interinstitutional cooperation of experts who work with people with reading difficulties, to initiate additions to the copyright law regarding transfer of the printed materials into other formats to all people who are print disabled by any reason and to make contribution to improvement of the quality of life of this group of people. The poster present the activities carried out during the Campaign, Campaign evaluation and recommendation for improvement of above mentioned services and programmes.
