Abstract

Dr Perfectionist: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Quantity

With time running out to digitise large collections on magnetic media, how much can be done in that time that’s left? The State Library of NSW is undertaking a project to digitise 5,000 hours of audio on Compact Cassette, Micro Cassette, Quarter Inch and DAT over a period of 6 months. This paper will discuss the Quality Assurance strategy applied to address the questions, is that scale of digitisation sustainable, suitable and satisfactory?
