Abstract

Swedish Public Libraries and Climate Awareness

Hässleholm Public Library and Vaggeryd Public Library are representing many Swedish libraries, which are consciously working with sustainable development. On the poster we are showing examples from our own libraries like: • Using second hand furniture when refurbishing the library • Using bags of second hand fabric instead of plastic bags. You can borrow the bag together with the books. • Recycling old materials in makerspace, where we also mend and repair clothes and things • We have clothes swapping days • You can rent an electric bike from the library • We have seed libraries • We have activities and exhibitions to draw people’s attention to climate issues.
