Abstract

Science Festival at the library

The poster for IFLA Poster Session-2019 presents one of the SPSTL SB RAS marketing projects «SCIENCE FESTAT THE LIBRARY» It was launched in 2018 in the SPSTL SB RAS, which is the 3rd largest library in Russia. This project is unique by its content and audience. There is no the same large-scale event in the libraries of the world. The date of the Festival is devoted to the establishment of Russian Academy of Sciences on February 8th 1724. The 2018 FESTIVAL programme:  Interactive exhibition of technical creativity  Popular scientific championships: The Goldberg machine,  The Cuboro Tricky Ways,  The Maker Faire Festival and ect.  Public lectures from leading scientists, businessmen, writers. Audience –young people of Siberia region. Goals: to provide quality education in order to inspire youth to do science Tasks:  to tell the youth about science with the aim of interactive educational forms; to demonstrate new scientific achievements;  to reveal talented youth; to provide information and library support ; to create a communicative space for youth. Presented project aligns with the theme of WLIC, because it supports science in innovative ways.
