Abstract

How To Organize A New Librarians Event

CFIBD (French International Committee for Libraries and Documentation) and IFLA-NPSIG (New Professionals Special Interest Group) have organized in January 2018 a 2-day event for new librarians in two French cities: Paris and Lyon. With IFLA President Gloria Pérez-Salmerón as a guest star, four international experts and fourty local workshops, the event aimed at giving French new librarians a global vision of libraries as well as an opportunity for prospective reflexion. It was meant as an experiment in order to inspire similar events for new librarians in other countries. The poster presents every step of the project – goals, guests, partners, communication means, etc. – but also the 10 conclusions of the 300 attendees about the future of libraries and librarianship.
