Abstract

First Film-themed Public Library in China

Film Branch of Hangzhou Public Library, opened on November 29, 2015, is the first film-themed public library in China, which provides citizens and film enthusiasts a platform to appreciate films, do relevant research and exchange about film and film art. Centering on the concept of “films reflect life, reading enlightens life”, Film Branch designs a series of programs, like Cinema Paradise, Weekend Cinema, Drama Club to fulfill its function. About 200 various activities were held in 2016 attracting nearly 20000 people. You can always find a great atmosphere of “loving films, enjoying life” in the library.
